Planning a Simple California Native Garden for the Beginner - San Jose

Saturday, August 27, 2022

Would you like to learn how to create an attractive yard that uses less water? California native plants thrive in our environment and support our local pollinators and wildlife, but aren’t familiar to most gardeners. Where do you start? Right here! In this workshop Master Gardener Paula Stapleton will provide a basic checklist of what to consider for planning a garden customized to your style, budget and interests, along with resources to inform all of your choices! We’ll keep it simple and accessible for even novice gardeners!

Presenter(s): UC Master Gardener Paula Stapleton
Registration: None
Cost: Free

Participants should wear closed-toed shoes, layered clothing and a hat, as the class is held outside in our Pavilion. A refillable water bottle, notebook and writing implements are recommended. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in.

Note: the park charges $6.00 for parking, or park closer to our area on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
